Pilates is a system of exercises designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, and posture as well as enhance mental awareness. It incorporates the mind and the body together to dynamically strengthen and stretch muscles to better support our activities of daily living. Special focus is on “core” structures; pelvic floor, abdominal muscles, supportive breathing techniques as well as spinal flexibility.
Our Pilates instructor, Lynda Schlomer comes to us with a background in Kinesiology, Pilates, fitness instruction and dance. With her love for people and movement, she majored in Kinesiology at Trinity Western University in 2003, graduating with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics in Kinesiology in 2007. Prior to graduating, she became certified as an aerobics instructor with the rigorous BCRPA certification from British Columbia.
Lynda is a master at working each individual at their level and potential in a group/class setting and is passionate about giving quality movement instruction to each individual that she teaches, based on their specific skills and needs.
